Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat

Madekwe was raised by a mixed ethnic family. She has a mother who is English and her father is Nigerian. She was raised on the southern part of London Council Estate. She attended The Brit School aged 14. She graduated with a BA in acting from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. In her time at the school, she performed in numerous stage plays, like the King Henry V's Princess Katherine or Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe began her acting career with the film Storm Damage. The actress has been a guest in Teachers Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's breakthrough came in 2007's Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream. It was opposite Colin Farrell (who played the character of Cassandra) as well as Ewan McGrath. Following that, she played Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally she appeared in Trexx as Ollie and six episodes in Flipside. Ashley Leggat, an actress that was nominated two times for a Gemini Award, hails from the large Hamilton family. Four of her older brothers were present as well including twins Todd & Bram, Brett & Rob. Ashley's family, which is all athletic, played baseball in summers and played hockey in the winter months. Ashley did not have the ability to actually walk. She was a dancer. So when she was two and a half and a half, she was a part of Baby Ballet. This was the beginning of Ashley's interest in dance. Ashley was a competitor in tap, jazz and ballet at the top divisions. Ashley was awarded the top soloist honor at each major dance event, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, to name just some.
