KellyKelly Clarkson in her full Kelly Brianne Clarkson was an American artist and performer who rose to fame after she was crowned American Idol's 2002 talent show. Clarkson was born in Burleson Texas (a suburb located in Fort Worth), where her singing abilities were first recognized by her seventh grade choir teacher. When she graduated from high school, Clarkson was sent on a trip to Los Angeles to try to get into the entertainment industry. The show was able to select her as a participant on the Fox Broadcasting Corporation's American Idol singing competition, that allowed the viewers to choose their favorite performance. Clarkson's charisma, voice, and sense of humor instantly drew the attention by viewers. The prize she won was $1 million, and she also signed a recording agreement with RCA.
